 The Birth, the Rise, and the Uprising that Followed

Scripture:

“And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. For with God nothing shall be impossible.”

—Luke 1:35-37 (KJV)

In this message, I want to highlight some key things that the birth of Jesus stirred in the world.

The Birth of Jesus Stirred:

I. The Rise of Great Men

Because Jesus was to be born, there was a necessity for the birth of a man named John.

Who was John?

John was not just a forerunner of Jesus; he was a great man in his own right. Jesus, in defining who John was, said: “Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.”

(Matthew 11:11 KJV).

I believe that in this season, there are many "Johns" being birthed into the Kingdom—men and women whose voices will send shockwaves into the camp of the enemy, into politics, and every sphere of life. John was, above all, a kingdom voice.

As we celebrate the birth of Jesus this Christmas, we are also witnessing the rise of great people, and you are a part of it.

II. The Rise of Wise Men

The birth of Jesus also stirred the rise of wise men.

Wisdom is the ability to discern what is true, right, and lasting. The opposite of wisdom is foolishness, which is marked by a lack of discernment. Eve was deceived because she lacked discernment.

Characteristics of These Wise Men:

A. Embracing a Lifelong Journey of Learning and Growth

The wise men were open to learning about Jesus without hesitation or doubt. It takes a childlike heart to truly know God.

B. Having a Thirst for Exploration

The wise men exhibited a deep hunger and thirst for discovery. Their journey from the East to find Jesus required great commitment. A wise person has an insatiable desire to seek Jesus.

C. Obeying Divine Instruction

The wise men embarked on their journey because God instructed them to do so. When King Herod asked them to return and reveal the location of the newborn King, they chose to obey God rather than man, returning by another route. This is a powerful example of kingdom wisdom—obedience to God, no matter the cost.

III. The Quaking of Wicked Kings and Rulers

The birth of Jesus also caused a stir in the kingdom of darkness. King Herod was the first to rise in opposition, and in his attempt to destroy Jesus, he enacted the ministry of the devil—killing and destroying innocent infants, bringing sorrow and devastation to families.

Beloved, the reason all hell is unleashed and wickedness increases is that the enemy seeks to terrify people into abandoning God and forsaking Jesus.

But there is a rise of true kingdom men and women—those who are wise enough, anointed enough, and bold enough to raise God’s banner high, no matter the cost. Glory to God!

Conclusion

The birth of Jesus sparked a profound chain of events—ushering in the rise of great men and women, wise in the ways of God, and causing the forces of darkness to tremble. As we celebrate Christmas, let us recognize the stirring that this event continues to cause in our lives and in the world. Let us also rise, as wise and anointed kingdom people, to fulfill the purpose for which we were born.

Why Celebrate Christmas?

Christology—the study and knowledge of Jesus Christ—marks the beginning of a change that transcends time. While there are those who question the celebration of Christmas, citing various reasons to discourage its observance, these historical arguments may be interesting but ultimately miss the point. If you follow this discussion to its conclusion, you will understand, affirm, and further confirm why Christmas should be celebrated.

Celebrations that are not Christmas:

• Celebrating Christmas without focusing on the reason for the season—Jesus Christ, our Lord—is an abuse of heaven and the work of salvation.

• The purpose of celebrating Christmas is not merely for merrymaking or indulgence. Any celebration that does not align with the life of Jesus is ungodly.

• A celebration that does not honor Jesus Christ and His sacrifice on Calvary is not truly Christmas.

• Any celebration that promotes immorality, idolatry, or wickedness is not Christmas.

• A celebration that gratifies the flesh is not Christmas.

• Any celebration that does not lead people to welcome Jesus into their hearts is not Christmas.

Why Should Christmas Be Celebrated?

I. A Miracle Too Massive Not to Be Celebrated

The birth of Jesus is the greatest miracle ever witnessed by humanity, spanning time and eternity.

Isaiah 7:14 (KJV):

"Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."

If you reflect on this Scripture, you might grasp the real miracle. The true miracle lies in the name "Immanuel," which means "God with us." What an incredible miracle it is to have God's tangible presence in us and around us! Ancient people longed for this moment; they yearned for it until their deaths. The birth of Jesus was an event, but its effects are eternal.

The Birth of Jesus Opened Us to the Supernatural

The miraculous conception of Jesus opened a portal to the supernatural, allowing us to experience divine possibilities in God. We can believe for great things and witness even greater miracles.

II. Because of Salvation

The miracle of Christ's birth goes beyond the supernatural pregnancy of the Virgin Mary. It signifies the miracle of change and salvation.

Matthew 1:21 (KJV):

"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins."

Do you truly understand what sin has done to humanity? If you ever ask the Lord to reveal the devastating effects of sin on man, you will fully appreciate what Christ's birth has accomplished for us. Salvation cannot be understood through scientific, psychological, or traditional analysis—it is beyond human comprehension. The simplest way to explain it is with the image of a man who falls overboard in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, struggling for life, sinking deeper into the sea. Just as he is on the brink of death, a rescuer pulls him from the water and miraculously gives him a new life to live.

• Sin annihilated man from his original, God-ordained purpose.

• Sin turned man into an eternal rebel against God's order.

• Sin caused man to fall from his glorious state.

• Sin killed man and robbed him of life.

• Sin placed man under the control of Satan.

• Sin empowered the devil's ministry to steal, kill, and destroy.

But the birth of Jesus marked the arrival of salvation. This miracle was completed once and for all, and to this day, anyone lost in sin can find refuge in His eternal well of salvation and be saved. It is a miracle that continues to give until the end of time.

III. Because of Jesus

Whenever we have the opportunity to proclaim His name and celebrate His praise, we should do so with joy. Christmas is about celebrating Christ Jesus. Seek out meaningful and impactful ways to spread the joy of salvation to people around the world. Don't let this season be reduced to a mere cultural event—make it a celebration of God's kingdom.

The birth of Jesus caused both angelic beings and people to burst forth in joy.

Luke 2:10 (KJV):

"And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people."

Matthew 2:10 (KJV):

"When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy."

May you experience unspeakable joy—joy that is indescribable and unfathomable—this season and beyond, in Jesus' name.

Text Scripture: Isaiah 9:6-7

One of the greatest privileges time itself ever had was witnessing the arrival of our Lord Jesus on earth. The earth and time has never fully recovered from the blessings and consequences of that singular encounter.

The celebration of Jesus' birth serves as a reminder of God's incredible love for humanity. In John 3:16 (NLT), we read: "For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life." This verse encapsulates the essence of Christmas—God’s gift to us in the form of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Was Born to Reconnect Fallen Man to God

In Genesis 1:26-28, God created man in His own image and likeness. Man was meant to be God’s reflection on earth. However, the enemy tricked man, and humanity fell into sin (Genesis 2). This fall had both eternal and physical consequences. David, by divine revelation, recognized the state of fallen man and described it in Psalm 107:10-11 (KJV):

"Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron; because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High."

This passage paints a grim picture of fallen humanity.

Matthew 4:16-17 (KJV) explains the transformation brought by Jesus:

"The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death, light is sprung up. From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

The coming of Jesus brought light to those trapped in darkness and chains.

Jesus Came to Address the Need and Want of Mankind

The primary need of mankind was freedom from eternal condemnation. Jesus satisfied the demand of eternal justice so that mankind could be free once more.

John 8:36 (KJV) says:

"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."

Jesus Is a Reflection of the Father’s Heart for Humanity

The heart of the Father is deep, pure, and loving. Jesus is the ultimate representation and expression of God’s love for the world. As John 3:16 shows, God’s release of Jesus was in response to His great love for humanity.

Jesus Is the Expression of the Godhead Bodily

John 14:9 (KJV) records Jesus saying:

"Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?"

Colossians 2:9 (KJV) reinforces this:

"For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily."

In Jesus, we see the full manifestation of God.

Jesus Is the Father’s Remedy for the Sin of Man

Sin was like a cancer with no remedy, but the birth of Jesus was the divine cure. Jesus came to restore what was lost and reconcile us to God.

Jesus' Birth Reflects That Life Can Be Lived with God

When Jesus took on our biological nature, He showed that we can live godly lives even in our earthly state. There are people who claim, “No one is holy,” as they gratify their human nature. But Scripture tells us in Hebrews 4:15 (KJV):

"For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin."

Jesus was tempted in every way we are, yet He remained sinless, showing us that it is possible to live godly lives.

Jesus' Birth Reflects God's Desire to Be with Man

God’s desire for fellowship, communication, and communion with humanity was fulfilled through the birth of Jesus. Matthew 1:23 (KJV) says:

"Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us."

Celebrating Christmas with the Right Expectation

To celebrate the immense blessing of Jesus' birth with the wrong expectations leads to a wrong experience. All we truly need today and always is Jesus. Now is the time to make your relationship with God clear by surrendering your heart and life to Him. Nothing guarantees eternity in heaven like giving your soul to God. Religion cannot make that happen. Attending church is not the way; it is a genuine heart surrender to the Lord of your soul that makes it happen.

If you know that your life is bound by the works of darkness and you want Jesus' light to shine upon you, delivering you from that darkness, please pray this prayer with me:

"Dear Lord Jesus, I come humbly to submit my heart, my soul, and my all to You. Cleanse me from all sin and filthiness, purify me, and make me worthy to be with You in eternity. Rule my life and my days on earth. In Jesus' name, Amen."

All I truly want this Christmas is Jesus Christ.

Introduction:

Prayer is the lifeblood of a believer's relationship with God. It is a vital conduit to supernatural possibilities, and Jesus emphasized its importance when He said, "These cannot happen but by fasting and prayer" (Mark 9:29). Despite its significance, many believers remain unaware of the true nature and power of prayer. In this post, we'll explore the consciousness that makes prayers effective.

Consciousness #1: Prayer is a Conversation with God

When you pray, you’re not just speaking into the air—you’re having a real conversation with God. This understanding transforms prayer into a transcendent interaction. The realization that you have the capacity to speak with the Creator of the universe instills awe and reverence in us. This consciousness acknowledges that prayer is a two-way communication with the Almighty.

“For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are attentive to their prayer...” (1 Peter 3:12)

Consciousness #2: Prayer is Intimacy with God

Prayer is more than asking for things; it is a way to cultivate intimacy with God. True intimacy means depth. You cannot be truly deep in prayer without becoming deeper in your relationship with God. His voice draws us into closer communion with Him. This consciousness recognizes prayer as a tool for deepening your relationship with the Father.

“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you...” (James 4:8)

Consciousness #3: Prayer Can Bring Things into Existence

Prayer is a creative force that can bring things into existence. There are realities that are not yet tangible but can come to life through prayer. Prayer allows the impossible to manifest. As Isaiah 66:8 (KJV) states, “Who hath heard such a thing? Who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.”

When you pray, embrace the mindset that your prayers can birth new realities—manifestations beyond the natural. This consciousness acknowledges that prayer can create new possibilities in your life.

Consciousness #4: Prayer Can Change the Verdict on Your Life

Prayer has the power to alter the verdict upon your life. James 5:16 tells us that “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” Hezekiah’s life is a powerful example. When God declared he would die, Hezekiah prayed, and God changed the verdict (2 Kings 20:1-5). Prayer can overturn judgments and laws that have been passed against you. By understanding this, you realize you have the authority to legislate change in the spirit, which will manifest in the physical realm. This consciousness recognizes that prayer can change the course of your life.

Prayer is more potent than any human connection or network. While connections are important, it is divine access that truly empowers. Psalm 146:3 KJV says, “Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.” And in Psalm 20:7, “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” This consciousness recognizes that prayer is a far greater force than any human connection.

The effectiveness of prayer is rooted in your relationship with God. “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” (1 John 5:14). When you understand how to pray effectively, you hold the key to transformation. “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16). This consciousness recognizes that knowing how to pray effectively can radically change your circumstances.

Prayer has the power to move things! “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” (Matthew 7:7-8). I once met a man who had been paralyzed by fear for 15 years, ever since he witnessed his father's death and an accident that followed. For years, he only interacted with his mother and brother. But after praying for him from a distance, something miraculous happened—he walked toward us and embraced me, shedding the chains of fear. The power of prayer moved him.

Countless times, I have witnessed how prayer shifts circumstances and brings about real change. This consciousness acknowledges that prayer has the power to make things move and shift in your life.

Prayer is a transformative force that can change the course of your life. By adopting these consciousnesses, you unlock the full potential of prayer and experience the supernatural possibilities that God has prepared for you.

WHEN IT IS GOD THAT TURNS YOU IN

One of the toughest battles to win is one where the one informing your enemy about you is within your camp. How would you feel if all the attacks you are going through were because God turned you over to the enemy? How would you feel to know that God was using you to prove a point to the adversary that you are truly His man?

Scripture: Job 1:8 KJV

"And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?"

God is an all-wise and all-knowing God. In fact, Scripture says that He uses the foolish things to confront the wisest of men. When Jesus died, the devil thought he had won, but even Christ's death was a wise strategy to conquer the enemy.

From our anchor text, God was the one who turned Job in for the devil to attack, but what could be His reason, and what does He want to achieve? Here are four powerful things God achieved by turning Job over to the devil:

1. Demonstrated That There Are People With Integrity Who Love God And Are Hundred Percent For God: By allowing Satan to test Job, God demonstrated Job's integrity and faithfulness to the world. Job's response to the trials and tribulations showed that his faith was genuine and not superficial.

2. To prove Satan's ideology that every man on earth is following Him because of what the Lord does for them. God indeed showed that there are generations in the order of Job who will love Him genuinely.

3. Exposed Satan's Limitations: By giving Satan permission to test Job, God exposed Satan's limitations and weaknesses. Despite his best efforts, Satan was unable to break Job's spirit or cause him to curse God. This demonstrated God's sovereignty and control over all things.

4. Revealed God's Redemption Plan: The story of Job also foreshadows God's redemption plan through Jesus Christ. Just as Job was restored and redeemed after his trials, so too will believers be redeemed and restored through faith in Jesus Christ. This story points to the ultimate victory of God over Satan and the redemption of humanity.

Prayer:

I ask, Lord, that You help me to love and revere You deeply from my heart. I refuse to have superficial faith that dies from every little attack. In Jesus' name.

Scripture: Psalm 2:1-5 KJV

One of the greatest tools on earth is the tool of imagination. Evil people and the devil are aware of this, which is why they constantly try to manipulate the thoughts of men. I once read that one way witches operate is by using imagination. They take people's images and think about them, imagining evil upon the person. Over time, they continue to do this until it takes root and can permeate into the person's being. Then, they begin to release spells and send enchantments.

Our anchor Scripture tells us, "Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?" (Psalm 2:1). Do you know that there are people who laugh with you, talk with you, and even eat with you, but they have evil imaginations about you? There is spiritual surveillance that is always gathering the deepest information from the hearts of men. God sees this imagination and is ready to fight it.

Imagination can be an altar upon which an evil person can summon spirits to come after a person. Imagination fuels action, and evil imagination fuels evil activities. Imagination powers realities: the hearts of evil people ruminate until their thoughts become a reality.

There are two dimensions of evil imaginations:

1. Evil imaginations from the heart of another person

2. Evil imagination that could stem from our own hearts

The content of evil imaginations includes:

1. It is against or anti a person (Psalm 2:2)

2. It has actionable evil steps (Psalm 2:3)

3. It is vain imaginations (Psalm 2:1)

Vain things are not just unimportant things but are imaginations designed to make a person feel empty and insignificant.

To handle evil thoughts against you, follow these steps:

1. Use God's word to counter evil thoughts.

2. Handle it in the place of prayer, decreeing and declaring God's protection and authority over your life.

Prophetic Decrees:

- Every arrow of evil fired at you from evil thoughts, catch fire now in Jesus' name.

- I speak over someone now, anyone in your job place thinking evil about you but smiling with you, may the rage of God come upon them.

- Anyone who is a friend that is full of jealousy and wishes you bad because of the good happening in your life, I command them to be exposed and put to shame.

- Anyone that visits witches, necromancers, time travelers, and their likes with an agenda to hurt you, may they become victims of their own schemes in Jesus' name.

- Someone is jealous of your marriage, jealous of your children, jealous of the blessings God has given you, and is not happy about it, and imagines your life in the opposite direction, may the Lord thunder upon them in Jesus' name.

Prayer Points:

1. Every evil thought that the enemy has used to fight my marriage, my relationships, and my glory, I command the rage of God to destroy it now in Jesus' name.

2. O Lord, anyone in my job place thinking and scheming my downfall, they fall before my eyes in Jesus' name.

3. O Lord, show me mercy. Fight for me in Jesus' name.

4. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. No evil mind sponsored against me that will function again in Jesus' name.

5. Anyone that is imagining death against me, they die in my place in Jesus' name.

6. Every evil altar in the heart and mind if men against me be roasted by God's fire now in Jesus name 

7. Every expectation of the enemy against me, they wait in vain, it won't come to pass in Jesus name

ENVOYS: TAKING TERRITORIES

Scripture: Acts 1:8 KJV

"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."

When Jesus came, His disciples became men who would become envoys to the nations. Envoys are men on special missions, tasked with representing the Kingdom of God and expanding its borders.

Let's dive into history and explore the disciples and the territories each of them took the Gospel to:

1. Peter: Rome, Corinth, and Babylon (1 Peter 5:13) - He played a key role in establishing the church in Rome and wrote letters to the early Christian communities.

2. John: Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey) - He ministered in Ephesus and wrote the Book of Revelation.

3. Thomas: India - According to tradition, Thomas traveled to India and established churches

4. Philip: Phoenicia, Greece, and Lydia - He preached to the Ethiopian eunuch (Acts 8:26-40) and ministered in various regions.

5. Bartholomew: Armenia and Pontus - He partnered with Philip in ministry.

6. Andrew: Greece, Asia Minor, and Ukraine - He preached to the Scythians and was martyred in Greece.

7. Matthew: Ethiopia - He wrote the Gospel of Matthew and ministered in Ethiopia.

8. James (son of Alphaeus): Syria and Palestine - He became the leader of the Jerusalem church.

9. Simon the Zealot: Egypt and North Africa - He preached to the Jewish communities.

10. Jude: Persia (modern-day Iran) - He wrote the Epistle of Jude.

These disciples, empowered by the Holy Spirit, took the Gospel to the ends of the earth, establishing churches and spreading the message of salvation.

Prayer

Lord, make me an envoy of Your Kingdom, empowering me to take the Gospel to my sphere of influence and beyond.
