NO PLACE

SEEDS OF GRACE  (Daily Devotional)
SATURDAY, 24TH DECEMBER 2016.

TOPIC: NO PLACE
SCRIPTURE: And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn -- Luke 2:7

MEMORY VERSE: Matthew 1: 23

DIGGING: When Jesus was to be born, there was no room for Mary and Joseph in the inn, the Greek word that used for inn is the Greek word "kataluna." Which literally refers to a guest room especially in a private home. So no place in the inn simply means that no place in homes, and hearts for Jesus. The inference being that the inn was crowded out with other guests.
This is a tragic picture and indictment against humanity, that no place would open to let Him in who was coming for so high a cause. An indictment on man for treating the Most High as the "most low." A sad story but it becomes even sadder. A tragic story, that becomes more tragic.
For after over 2000 years, He is still on the outside for man has still found no room in the inn of his heart for Christ. Man is still preoccupied by pleasure and merriment. The inference still the same, that man has allowed the life given to him by God to be crowded with other guests.
Worldly prestige, pleasure, profit, prominence. No place is found for the Master. The same picture through ages keeps reflecting, many folks have time for business, time for pleasure, time for self.but no time for God. Many come to church, listen to messages and have had God encounters yet Jesus has no room in them.
Listen friends Christmas is useless without Christ in it. If Jesus is not in your life you are only celebrating "self-mass". Christ is the reason why the mass counts. Revelation 3:20 says "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." Make  your life home for our Lord Jesus today and then you will experience His saving grace, His mercy and His love fully.
I pray for you, your priority will be God always in Jesus' name.

PRAYER: O Lord I consecrate myself to you make my heart your home in Jesus' name.
