TOPIC: BOOSTERS OF POWERFUL PRAISE
SCRIPTURE: It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High -- Psalm 92:1
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name -- Psalm 100:4
MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 100:4
DIGGING DEEP: In the realm of the Spirit there are secrets, until these secrets are known there are many things that will elude you. One of the biggest secrets to gain access into the place were God lives and activate His powerful acts is via praise. The English word 'praise' has a French origin, 'preisier', and 'preisier' means 'to prize' - and that gives us a little bit of a glimpse of what the word 'praise' really means. To praise God means to prize God. The word 'prize', means 'to value', 'to esteem', 'to cherish' something or someone, but it also means to estimate the worth. God desires and deserves our praise. We are to give Him praise at all times.
What are praise boosters:
I) Knowledge: The less you know about God, the less you'll be able to praise Him. The more you know Him the more you praise Him. Knowledge comes from relationship. Praise becomes powerful if relationship is involved.
2) Live a clean life: Praise is an open invitation to God. However enticingly worded a praise is, if it is not from a clean heart it will only constitute an irritant to God.
3) Be filled with gladness: There must be gladness of heart. A glad heart pours out like a broken pipe unto God. A glad heart is a cheerful and merry heart. David was glad when the ark of Gods' covenant was returned and He danced Himself to stupor so much so that He was naked before the people and never mind. His wife dispised him in the process and God shot her womb even till she died (2nd Kings 6:14-23). Listen! a merry heart to God in praise makes you a mobile carrier of divine judgement; when anyone dares you in their thoughts or actions, they are daring God Himself.
4) Testimonies: Praise is boosted if we can recount Gods' awesome deeds in our lives. It is the celebration of Gods' faithfulness, His mercies and love. Miriam began to praise God after they had seen the miracles of the Lord and how He took them across the red sea. Exodus 15:21 said "And Miriam answered, Sing ye to the Lord, for He hath triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider hath He thrown into the sea".
God replicates His acts when we praise God deliberately and enthusiastically from our heart of hearts.
Remember this praise brings God out of His dwelling place and He endwells us. So therefore the more praiseful we are the more godful we become.
I pray for you anything hindering your praise is removed today in Jesus' name.
