BALANCED LIFE
SEEDS OF GRACE (Daily Devotional)
TUESDAY, 13TH DECEMBER 2016.
TOPIC: BALANCED LIFE
SCRIPTURE: And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things - Genesis 24:1
MEMORY VERSE: Genesis 12:1-2
DIGGING DEEP: When God moves you through your journey to destiny He will take you through odd places, you will travel to new and unfamiliar destinations. There are times you get to junctions that intersect between faith upon faith.
You will be tested to bring out the gold in you. Abraham is an absolute example of this. Life is said to have ups and downs, curves and turns but for the righteous it is an upward, forward and progressive life. In fact it is a balanced life. Our text revealed that when "Abraham was now a very old man..." First all who is Abraham?
I) Abraham is a type of a man who has a covenant relationship with God.
II) Abraham represents obedient sons and daughters of God.
III) Abraham represent one who lives by faith. And anyone who lives by faith is righteous (Romans 1:17). So therefore anyone born again is a type of an Abraham and God is revealing what should happen to all Abraham's: "Abraham was now a very old man, and the LORD had blessed him in every way."
This shows that: 1) Growing old and being at the same time blessed is possible.
2) Ending life's journey well is possible;and
3) God blesses His obedient ones with balanced blessings.
Let's see four of the all round blessings of Abraham: 1) He broke the bondage of generational poverty in his lineage: Abraham started up having nothing, lack and poverty was his trademark. But when God blessed him Scripture recorded that he became very rich (Genesis 13:2).
2) He was blessed with children: The stroke of barrenness ended (Genesis 21:5)
3)Blessed with faithful and wonderful staffs and people: You need to understand and regularly pray that God blesses you with the right people. God blessed him with faithful and trustworthy people like Eliezer (Genesis 24).
3) He was blessed with health and long life: "And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age..." Abraham aged with grace and in health. God does not want you to get old and suffer from arthritis, high blood pressure, heart problem and the likes. With God there is nothing like "diseases of old age". It is Gods' will for us is to live life to the full (John 10:10).
I prophesy over you today that God will bless you financially, bless you with children, bless you with the right people and bless you with long life and all round blessings in Jesus' name.
PRAYER: 1) O Lord every uncrossable generational limit in my life in the name of Jesus' I breakthrough it now.
2) O Lord I receive the blessings you gave Abraham in Jesus' name.
