UNDER THE CLOUD: Understanding The Mystery Of Atmospheres And How To Build And Sustain The Right Atmosphere
UNDER THE CLOUD: UNDERSTANDING THE MYSTERIES OF ATMOSPHERES, HOW TO BUILD AND SUSTAIN THE RIGHT ATMOSPHERE
(The Teaching Ministry Of Dr Joel Dabbas)
Scripture: 1 Corinthians 10:1-4 (NIV)
"For I do not want you to be ignorant of the fact, brothers and sisters, that our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea. They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ. But God was not pleased with most of them; their bodies were scattered in the wilderness."
Physically, no matter where you are on earth, you will be under the cloud. Every territory carries its unique cloud.
Similarly, in the realm of the spirit, men are under clouds. The kind of cloud that is over you is important because it determines what rains upon you.
As Ecclesiastes 11:3 KJV says, "If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth..." So your rain is determined by the cloud you are under.
There are clouds of blessings, of curses, bad luck, and misfortune. When a person walks under such clouds, it empties what it contains upon that person.
Our anchor Scripture stated that the Children of Israel were under the cloud, and let's see the effects it had over them:
1. Possibilities and Miracles
"...our ancestors were all under the cloud and that they all passed through the sea." - 1 Corinthians 10:1-2
Because they were under the cloud, they passed through the Red Sea. The cloud you are under in the spirit determines the possibilities you enjoy.
Obstacles and inhibitions are overcomeable if you are under the cloud of His power and glory.
2. Baptism
"They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea." - 1 Corinthians 10:2
"We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life." - Romans 6:4
They were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea. The word Baptism is from the Word Baptismo, which means to immerse or dip.
It symbolizes purification and identification. So under this spiritual cloud, there was supernatural change that went on.
I particularly like these other meanings of baptism, which are:
- Christening (meaning to give name)
- Rite of passage (access)
- Ordination (to be anointed into an office)
So the right spiritual cloud can give you access and establish you in your ordination.
3. Spiritual Nutrition
"They all ate the same spiritual food and drank the same spiritual drink; for they drank from the spiritual rock that accompanied them, and that rock was Christ." - 1 Corinthians 10:3-4
Under the cloud, Israel ate spiritual meals and drank from the depth of God.
"Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." - Matthew 4:4
Your spiritual meal determines your spiritual well-being.
A whole city and nation can come under a demonic cloud, a Church can be under a demonic cloud, a family can be under a demonic cloud, a business and even a destiny can be under an evil cloud.
I remember years ago I came out one day and looked up; the cloud was different, and I perceived that someone prominent in our city would die.
It was the cloud of sorrow and death. I could literally feel the grip of it, and that same day the governor died in a fatal plane crash with many others.
We must have spiritual intelligence to read the spiritual clouds around us per time.
The cloud is the atmosphere we are under.
How to Create the Right Cloud or Atmosphere:
1. The Words You Speak
Words are like vapour. Vapour leaves the earth, goes into the sky, and condenses to form rain clouds and falls on the earth.
So if you continually speak evil and negative words, you impregnate your spiritual clouds with negativity, and it will rain down negative things.
"Death and life are in the power of the tongue..." - Proverbs 18:21
"The tongue has the power of life and death; those who love to talk will reap the consequences." - Proverbs 18:21 (NLT)
2. Divine Direction
"...the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud, to lead them the way" - Exodus 13:21
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." - Proverbs 3:5-6
Israel enjoyed the cloud because they set out to follow God's order to take them to the promised land.
3. The Right Leadership and Cover
"Moses entered the cloud and went up on the mountain..." - Exodus 24:18
Moses was a leader in alignment with God, and so as he took them, the cloud followed.
Understand this: Moses was always entering the cloud of God's glory and presence, and the cloud spread over the nation of Israel.
What your leader enters in the spirit determines what others experience also.
4. Worship and Praise
Worship and praise can create an atmosphere conducive to God's presence.
"Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name." - Psalm 100:4
5. Forgiveness and Reconciliation
Unforgiveness can block the flow of God's blessings.
"And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.” - Mark 11:25
6. Spiritual Disciplines
Engaging in spiritual disciplines like fasting, prayer, and meditation can invite God's presence.
"...and your Father who sees in secret will reward you." - Matthew 6:18
