SEEDS OF GRACE (Daily Devotional)

TOPIC: ANTI-GREATNESS FORCES
SCRIPTURE: Judges 16
1 Then went Samson to Gaza, and saw there an harlot, and went in unto her.
2 And it was told the Gazites, saying, Samson is come hither. And they compassed him in, and laid wait for him all night in the gate of the city, and were quiet all the night, saying, In the morning, when it is day, we shall kill him.
3 And Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and all, and put them upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill that is before Hebron.
MEMORY VERSE: Judges 16:3
DIGGING: The devil is not after you for nothing but because there is a seed of greatness in you. Samson was one of the special humans to have lived on earth. As great as Samson's strength and potential was, he was a man faced with many enemies both spiritual and physical which overrode Gods power in him.
THREE ANTI-GREATNESS FORCES ARE:-
A. POWERFUL ADVERSARIES - Samson was prophesied by the angel of the Lord that he will be born to deliver Isreal from the hands of her adversaries. Adversaries are spiritual and physical. Listen life is full of them; you see some in the office, some where you live and even from family members. Samson abused the rules of engagement and made the enemies his companion until they got the best of him.
B. POWERFUL ATTRACTIONS - Nothing destroys greatness like wrong attractions. Wrong attractions constitute distractions. It affects your dedication to your dream and assignment. Distractions makes us lower our standards and kills focus. Samson was attracted to the wrong people and it ended his ministry abruptly.
C. POWERFUL ADDICTIONS - Addiction is like it sounds it is the addition of what is not meant to be a part of us. Addiction defaces our personality and corrupts our identity. Addiction tarnishes a persons image, reputation and testimony. Your testimony is the most valuable thing you possess in this world! Guard it with your life. If you ever allow your testimony to become tarnished, you will never be able to restore it to where it was in the eyes of those who saw you fail! Anytime you get addicted to the wrong things you are sacrificing your greatness.
Many people have sacrificed their greatness on the altar of addiction.
However powerful you are, if you are not careful your enemies, attractions and addiction will gun you down.
You must watch out for these if you must firmly attain your greatness
PRAYER: O Lord I refuse to surrender to adversaries, negative attractions and addictions in Jesus' name.
