SEEDS OF GRACE (Daily Devotional)
SUNDAY, 1ST JANUARY 2017.
TOPIC: FRESH START
SCRIPTURE: This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you -- Exodus 22:2
MEMORY VERSE: Luke 10:27
DIGGING: It is the dawn of a new beginning and a new year. Many start the year with a new year resolution. And for many, every year they make resolutions but seems not to get into the solution. This year to enjoy God and His plans for your life, you must make a resolution to have:
1) GOD CONSCIOUSNESS: The smartest way to start your year is to start with God. Don't run around this year without the consciousness of God in your heart. The implication of this is that you totally will be totally consumed, possessed and swallowed up in God. David's major secret was that he had God's consciousness and was thinking of building a house for God (2Samuel 7). When God saw this desire in him, He sent prophet Nathan unto him and blessed his generation forever. God consciousness is knowing that God is watching you and so you can't sin.
God's consciousness is loving the Lord and placing Him at the center of everything.
2) WORD HUNGER: Until you you are hungered for the word of God you can't be stronger this year. Go for the word of God.
3) PRAYER HUNGER: A man that lives a dedicated life to God and prays is always tuned to God's presence. And any man in God's presence carries His essence.
3) SERVICE CONSCIOUNESS: The whole reason why God kept you alive is simply because of service (Ecclesiastes 12:13). This year be committed to God personally, in your finances, with your time, with your position, with your gift and talent. Get a unit in church and serve! Dont waste time serve God. Listen if you are committed to God, you will be omitted from the disasters of this age.
4) BE A BLESSINGS TO PEOPLE: This year resolve to kill selfishness. Be of help to people. Jesus said if you do this to the least of my brethren you are doing unto me (Matthew 25:40/45). Simply say that the way you relate and treat people is the way you relate or treat God.
I decree upon your life this fresh start is your grace start, things won't be the same for you any more because God will bless you and favor you all round in Jesus' name.
PRAYER: O Lord I refuse to make empty resolutions anymore, help me this year in Jesus name.
