TOPIC: THE CONTROLLING SPIRIT OF THIS AGE
SCRIPTURE: In which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.
Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest - Ephesians 2:2-3
MEMORY VERSE: Galatians 5:16
DIGGING DEEP: There are two courses in this world which are the course of God and that of the devil. The path of God leads to eternal life and that of the devil leads to eternal death. The devil always goes to and fro like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. That means that the major duty of the devil is to ruin the lives of men.
It is of great necessity that we guard ourselves and be more vigilant than ever. Carelessness is not to be entertained in this season.
The devil is subtle and curny, he often uses this to get around and influence. That was what he did to eve in eden and so manipulated the state of human race.
What are controlling spirits? These are demonic spirits that seek or have gained influence and legality in the life of men. They can dictate the behaviour of a person, the culture of a place, the patterns in a family and so on. When you get into a place you can tell the spiritual forces controlling that country or state. Some it is insincerity, some places divorce and infidelity, some it is suicide bombing and violence, some is a pattern of crime, others it is spiritual coldness and lack of desire for the things of God. The list is endless. But in the name of Jesus any controlling power in your environment is subdued under you today in Jeaus' name.
Our anchor Scripture states that these forces are powers in the air and translates to work in the lives of those who are dead in sin.
Let us see a few: a. Disobedience: Today the rate of disobedience is abysmally high. People are disobedient to God, children are disobedient to parents, citizens are disobedient to the country and so on. It is a controlling spirit in the atmosphere.
b. Lust of the flesh: The "lust of the flesh" is an evil desire for the things of the flesh. It is indulging in desires of the flesh and mind. If what your mind desires is not in alignment with the things of God then a controlling spirit is at work.
Controlling spirits tend to build altars in our mind in which the devil finds legality to traffic. Some it is addiction to sex causing fornication and adultery, there are some it is lying and insincerity, envy, hate, obssession and many more. But in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth any thing that is not of God influencing your mind and affecting your life it is broken in the name of Jesus.
Finally, Jesus began to explain how He will be killed, Peter was under a controlling spirit and began to say it is not possible but Jesus rebuked that devil "Jesus turned to Peter and said, "Get away from me, Satan! You are a dangerous trap to me. You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God's" (Matthew 16:23 NLT). So therefore controlling spirits are satanic traps and they make you see things only from man's point of view and not God's.
I decree that you are breaking free now in Jesus' name.
PRAYER: O Lord i decree that no satanic influence has the capacity to manipulate my life and destiny in the name of Jesus.

TOPIC: THE SPIRIT OF THIS AGE:DEAD IN SIN
SCRIPTURE: And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience - Ephesians 2:1-2
MEMORY VERSE: 1 Corinthians 5:17
DIGGING DEEP: We are in a time and age whereby people live by the concepts of the world and not by the precepts of the word of God. There are those who don't regard God, and have no fear(refference) for Him. And there are those who have outrightly sold out their conscience to the devil, so that their heart is twisted by intellectualism, modernization, and infected by satanic mindset; they have become atheists and dare to speak against God without the blink of an eye. Scripture says in Psalm 14:1 that "The fool says in his heart there is no God." In other words it is the highest height of foolishness to look at the world, look at your life and all the awesome things that is around us and say that God doesn't exist. Any life that is not rooted in Christ has no future that is to say has no life after this life .
Our text says that "And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins." Notice these:
1. Dead in sin: This speaks of a spiritual state where by one is powerless against sin. A state of lifelessness to righteousness and holiness. It is a state that one cannot respond to God again. A condition of a living corpse of sin.
And just as a corpse cannot revive itself to life, neither can an unbeliever revive his own spirit into new life. In this state it is normal to sin and not feel it, infact in this state people will defend evil and call it good. That is the reason the world is supporting gay rights, nudism, suicide bombers, and all sort of atrocities prevail everywhere today because men are dead in sin.
2. Quickened: Prior to the revelation of Jesus we were all spiritually dead. It was the unique identity of all mankind. Every person begins their life on earth in this state of spiritual deadness, and apart from the work of God to revive our spirit, this state will continue uninterrupted until our physical death.
Accepting Jesus converts you from been 'dead in sin' to been 'dead to sin' and alive unto righteousness (Romans 6:11).
Finally beloved, anyone that has no regard for God and haven't accepted Christ as Lord will die again but if you recieve Him you will live again.
I pray for you today any form of iniquity that is holding you from enjoying God's best i break it now in, recieve spiritual reawakening in Jesus' name.
PRAYER: O Lord I confess today that you are the Lord of my life in Jesus' name
O Lord, i recieve grace to stay alive unto righteousness and dead to sin in Jesus' name.

TOPIC: WORSHIP TOOLS
SCRIPTURE: 21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth - John 4:21-24
MEMORY VERSE: John 4:24
DIGGING DEEP: Worship tools are tools that helps us accurately and effectively worship God.
We were created as agents of worship unto God and that is what we should live for and do every single day of our lives (Ephesians 1:11-12).
One of the most potent weapons and major secret of accessing Divine presence is worship (Psalm 22:3).
An atmosphere of worship is an environment of courtship with Divinity. Because it is an avenue where the depth of your heart is poured out unto God. It is a place of deep intimacy with God.
To effectively worship therefore, worship tools are needed. The way and manner by which tools ease work, so does worship tools aid you in worshipping God well.
What then are the tools that make worship effective? What are the tools that assures accuracy, excellence and eliminate struggle in worship?
1. KNOWLEDGE OF GOD: "Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship..." Worship is faceless, rootless and baseless if God is not in the centre of it. Cluelessness of worship equals the fruitlessness of worship.
To worship blind foldedly, is a senseless and valueless worship. You must know God to worship Him well. Know His personality, His character, His does and don'ts. Knowledge is precipitated via study. Knowing God is from His word and this helps us to worship correctly.
2. WORD: Word revelation is critical to effective worship. The most powerful worship is in response to God’s Word connecting with your heart. Worship divorced from God’s word is mere emotion. A wordless worship is a worthless worship. A wordless worship is a rootless and clueless worship. The word pours out the truth about God in your spirit hence you begin to worship in Spirit and in His truth indeed (John 4:24).
3. SPIRIT: "... worship him in spirit..." This is where the supernatural comes into play. This is where you experience the appearance of God. And when He appears miracles manifests.
4. A CLEAN HEART: A clean heart involves having singleness of heart toward God. A clean heart has no hypocrisy, no guile, no hidden motives and no sin in it.
If your heart is clean your worship will be clean and it will attract God to you. Worship is great when all your being is concentrated upon God.
5. HUNGER: Feeding is a response to hunger, the more we hunger for God, the more we worship Him. The secret to worship encounters is hunger.
Be desperate for God.
When these tools are applied there will be an eruption of an high tension Divine presence around your life and you will experience the explosion of the power of God.
PRAYER: Father i recieve your word with gladness of heart and i press into you more than ever in Jesus' name.

PURPOSE AND THE MOVE OF GOD

TOPIC: PURPOSE AND THE MOVE OF GOD
SCRIPTURE: I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire - Matthew 3:11
MEMORY VERSE: Romans 12:1
DIGGING DEEP: There is no one on earth that doesn't have a purpose. Every purpose has three important aspects:
a. Every purpose has a timing or session.
b. Every purpose has an end.
c. Every purpose has capacity to generate effect or impact. That is why living a purposeless life results in an impactless life. A purposeless life is a waste of God's investment and opportunity.
John the Baptist was the fore runner for the ministry of our Lord Jesus. His basic purpose was to prepare the way for the Lord to come and make His paths straight. In our text we observe that:
1. Know what you carry and stay on your limit: John knew that he as the 'water baptism anointing' and that was where he stayed, spooning and developing it until his voice in the wilderness had amazing influence upon the city. There is something that God has given to you, there is an asssignment you were sent to accomplish identifying it and staying on it produces impact.
2. He was willing for the next move of God: He was ready to introduce the next move of God. Even though he won't be the driver of that move but is ready to usher it in. Beloved wether you like it or not, there is going to come a time that you have to leave the stage but the question is that what have you truly done with your time. Because the truth is if you don't do your part it will affect or delay the next move. Many times seasons are interconnected, that is why we must do all we can to judiciously make use of what the Lord has given to us now.
3. He advertised Jesus to the people: There are many today who because of little miracles God does through them people literally worship them and take glory that belongs to God to themselves. The people of his time were busy looking for the Messiah. He didn't take the Glory or say that he is the one but rather he pointed them to Jesus.
PRAYER: O Lord help me not to miss purpose in Jesus' name.

TOPIC: JEHOVAH TSIDKENU
SCRIPTURE: 5 “The days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land.
6 In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The LORD Our Righteous Savior - Jeremiah 23:5-6
MEMORY VERSE: Jeremiah 23:6
DIGGING DEEP: Today we want to study why we are rightoeus and how to stay righteous. Jehovah Tsidkenu means the Lord our righteousness.
Becoming righteous is a responsibility for all who are in Christ. Righteousness describes our relationship status with God. Anyone who have not recieved Jesus has Lord and king is not righteous and has no relationship with God.
Righteousness is very important because it does not only reflect your state of relationship with God but it has a huge impact on our daily affair. Our text reveal that when a righteous branch is raised two things will happen:
a. Wisdom will be on display: "... a King who will reign wisely..." This shows that righteousness is a linker to wisdom. Foolishness is the hallmark of unrighteousness.
b. Just and right performance: "... and do what is just and right in the land." To do good and act well is a product of righteousness.
I want you to understand that just like a branch is cut from one and grafted into another plant. In like manner we were disconnected from unrigteousness and grafted into the family of God (the family tree of righteousness). After grafting is completed, what flows in this grafted branch is not from the old plant again but from the new plant it was now grafted into. Sotherefore, the nature and character that flows in us is that of God hence our righteousness is not of us but of Him. We are dependent on God to be righteous. The only way we can become unrighteous is when God becomes unrighteous, and it is never possible for God to be unrighteous and secondly when we decide to allow ourselves to become regrafted into the works of flesh. So long we remain engrafted in God we are righteous.
God is our righteousness. You do not try to be righteous it naturally flows through you. If you are properly grafted in God and remain in Him, you can't henceforth live your life your own way, because your dependancy is totally on God. His will is your will, His life is in you, His nature becomes your nature and what God hates you naturally hate. You no more live a religious centred life but a God centred life. Religion will say "it is not possible for a human to live totally free of sin" but a God centred life says "it is possible."
Struggling to live right won't be necessary if righteousness flows in you.
Finally, remember that God is your righteousness and He wants you to live a righteous life.
I pray for you, remain grafted in Christ in Jesus' name.

TOPIC: JEHOVAH TSIDKENU
SCRIPTURE: 5 “The days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, a King who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land.
6 In his days Judah will be saved and Israel will live in safety. This is the name by which he will be called: The LORD Our Righteous Savior - Jeremiah 23:5-6
MEMORY VERSE: Jeremiah 23:6
DIGGING DEEP: Today we want to study why we are rightoeus and how to stay righteous. Jehovah Tsidkenu means the Lord our righteousness.
Becoming righteous is a responsibility for all who are in Christ. Righteousness describes our relationship status with God. Anyone who have not recieved Jesus has Lord and king is not righteous and has no relationship with God.
Righteousness is very important because it does not only reflect your state of relationship with God but it has a huge impact on our daily affair. Our text reveal that when a righteous branch is raised two things will happen:
a. Wisdom will be on display: "... a King who will reign wisely..." This shows that righteousness is a linker to wisdom. Foolishness is the hallmark of unrighteousness.
b. Just and right performance: "... and do what is just and right in the land." To do good and act well is a product of righteousness.
I want you to understand that just like a branch is cut from one and grafted into another plant. In like manner we were disconnected from unrigteousness and grafted into the family of God (the family tree of righteousness). After grafting is completed, what flows in this grafted branch is not from the old plant again but from the new plant it was now grafted into. Sotherefore, the nature and character that flows in us is that of God hence our righteousness is not of us but of Him. We are dependent on God to be righteous. The only way we can become unrighteous is when God becomes unrighteous, and it is never possible for God to be unrighteous and secondly when we decide to allow ourselves to become regrafted into the works of flesh. So long we remain engrafted in God we are righteous.
God is our righteousness. You do not try to be righteous it naturally flows through you. If you are properly grafted in God and remain in Him, you can't henceforth live your life your own way, because your dependancy is totally on God. His will is your will, His life is in you, His nature becomes your nature and what God hates you naturally hate. You no more live a religious centred life but a God centred life. Religion will say "it is not possible for a human to live totally free of sin" but a God centred life says "it is possible."
Struggling to live right won't be necessary if righteousness flows in you.
Finally, remember that God is your righteousness and He wants you to live a righteous life.
I pray for you, remain grafted in Christ in Jesus' name.

TOPIC: SERVICE: PATHWAY TO HONOUR
SCRIPTURE: If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour - John 12:26
MEMORY VERSE: John 12:25
DIGGING DEEP: God has called us to serve Him. Servants are not known by their titles, nor by position. Servants are products of service. True servants are products of loyal, obedient and dedicated service unto God.
Servants are those who have surrendered their purpose unto God. It is a state whereby you say i have nothing on my own to pursue but you Lord. With this type of mentality, no matter the sphere you are right now or will be, you will be a proper kingdom ambassador carrying God's agenda everywhere you find yourself. This kind of people don't separate God from their business, career or family. They know that if God is not involved it will be devoured.
Service is an open cheque from God to man. It is not an invitation handed only to a particular race, tribe or tongue. Anywhere you are on earth, no matter your background, Jesus says that "If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be..." The implication of this is that:
1. There is a place in God you can never get to unless you serve Him.
2. There is a realm that only service can get you into.
3. Divine presence explodes in a place that kingdom service is prime: "...where I am, there shall also my servants be..." You can't be serving God and not experience Him. When you keep serving God, you will keep having Him.
Service is a major vehicle that transports you into the extra-natural realm of power, grace, anointing, insight, and impact.
Service is a visa into the realm of God. For instance the realm of God there is fullness of joy, hence you can't be serving God and you won't enjoy joy.
God honours those who serve Him. He distinguishes faithful servants. Service is a gateway to a life of distinction.
Finally, you can't serve God and not be distinguished in life.
PRAYER: O Lord by service distinguish me in all arear of my life in Jesus' name amen.

HUMILITY: GATEWAY TO ANSWERED PRAYERS

TOPIC: HUMILITY: GATEWAY TO ANSWERED PRAYERS
SCRIPTURE: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land - 2 Chronicles 7:14
MEMORY VERSE: Jeremiah 33:3
DIGGING DEEP: Everyday on the surface of the earth many cry unto God in prayers but sadly not many recieve answers. Infact it is not all of these prayers that God hears. This is because, with God actions are more relevant than words (1 Samuel 2:3). That is to say that God does not respond because the words used in praying is sugar coated, nor because of the power of oratory of that individual, neither because of the long hours spent in praying. If we know how to do all of these and humility is lacken, result and answers will still be absent.
Our anchor text says that " If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." From this we understand that:
1. Been called by His name and you lack humility you will struggle to get answers: This means that you might be called a prayer warrior or labelled a prayer machine, a pastor, bishop and so on but if you are haughty at heart you won't recieve answers to prayers.
2. Humility is a powerful link to getting the ears (attention) of God.
3. Humility makes our prayers powerful and commands answers
Beloved, if we must get undeniable access to God and answers to prayers one major key is humility. Humility grants you acceptance before God. Humble people easily get Divine attention, hence they recieve answers cheaply.
Deficiency in humility equals deficiency in answers to prayers.
The lifestyle of humility is a necessity to all who crave for answers to prayers and for those who wants to be guided by God.
Humble people do not have care of anything else other than God. Humility fuels trust in God, trust empowers faith, faith stimulates God to answer you. Faith becomes meaningful in the atmosphere of humility because humility removes resistance and engenders grace (James 4:6).
Faith triggers the power of God and the power of God explodes in the atmosphere of humility.
God’s presence easily permeates an environment of humility. It is an atmosphere of humility that engages the Almighty. It is an entrance into an exciting life with the Lord. God saves the humble, but brings low the proud. Pride fuels arrogancy, it makes you trust in your intelligence, your knowledge, your position, your wealth and makes you gradually loose trust in God. You must guard your heart jealously to avoid been robbed of the blessings of God by the seed of pride. Nothing shuts one out of the presence of God like pride. No matter the results you have experienced, no matter the manifestations (miracles and move) of God you have seen whenever you come to God be humble.
Finally prayer without humility is waste of time. Praying without humility is like shouting in an empty space and your voice re-echoing back to you.
Remember today that when humility is lacken answers to prayer will be lacken.
PRAYER: O Lord any seed of pride that as been eating up my answers to prayers i destroy it now in Jesus' name.
