TOPIC: THE HOUSE OF GOD
SCRIPTURE: I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go - Psalm 122:1
MEMORY VERSE: Genesis 28:17
DIGGING DEEP: The house of God should never be taken lightly, you can skip been anywhere but not the house of God. Hebrews 10:25 (TLB) says that
"Let us not neglect our church meetings, as some people do..." There are those who don't go to God's presence and don't delight in going anymore. But David in our anchor Scripture said that "I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go."
Any invitation into the house of God is an invitation into the realm of gladness, joy and celebration. It is cancellation of sorrows and pains that weighs us down. The house of God is therapy for sorrow, depression and downcastedness.
Why is the house of God this powerful?
1. God has placed His name there (2 Chronicles 7:16): Anywhere His name is, His personality is there and His presence and influence is there.
2. The house of God is a place for answer: Hannah was barren and the reproach was totally unbearable for her. She was been mocked at home by her rival she went to Shiloh that year and God opened her womb and she gave birth to Samuel, who also became the answer Isreal has been waiting for (1 Samuel 1;2). One way to end satanic rivalry and assault is to step into His house of God. Anything that pushes you into God’s house, is pushing you into Supernatural answers.
3. It is a place you are delivered to takeover not to take cover: Obadiah 1:17 says that "But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions."
The house of God is a place of deliverance and salvation. A place where demonic verdicts are overturned, hopelessness and scattered lives are reshaped. Where destiny is revitalised, re-energized, and refired up to takeover.
4. A place where your prayer fire is revived and energized: My house shall be called the house of prayer (Matthew 21:13). As a place of prayer, you train, and develop into a Spiritual artillery. People who don't go to church are Spiritually weak and fire less and so the devil can mesmerize their lives anyhow.
5. A place of divine encounter: Nothing makes life count like encounter. Jacob was running away from Esau and didn't know that where he passed the night was the house of God. There God gave him Abraham's covenant, God placed greatness in him and promised to keep him in all his ways (Genesis 28:13-17). That singular encounter with God changed the life of Jacob and gave him direction for life.
The devil cheats people out of their Divine inheritance by giving them many reasons not to appear before God in His house. Psalms 84:7 "They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God." You are strengthless when you don't appear before God in His house. So never miss any opportunity to be in the house of God.
I pray for you that the Lord will build in you unquenchable desire for his house in Jesus' name.
PRAYER: O Lord give me the capacity to always invite people to your house. Give me great passion for Your work in Jesus' name.
