TOPIC: PROFIT FROM THE WORD
SCRIPTURE: For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it - Hebrews 4:2
MEMORY VERSE: Isaiah 48:17
DIGGING DEEEP: Our anchor Scripture reveals that the word of God is designed to pull up profit out of our lives. Infact mere listening to the word of God must turn our lives around. To profit means that:
a. The word of God has the capacity to increase your value and worth: Encounter with the word of God is able to balance, change and improve your whole life. People who knew you before must be able to see the difference the word has and is creating in your life.
b. When you trade (engage) with the word benefits comes into your life: In other words wordlessness is equal to gainlessness. For example, when you trade with the word of God, it extracts your fear and gives you faith, it removes your pain and gives you joy, it removes any bleakness in your life and destiny, then turns it into great possibilities and so on.
Why is it that people don't enjoy profit from the word of God?
1. Wrong Approach: When you approach the Bible as a religious book or creed you can't profit from it.
2. Familiarity With The Word: Many are so used to the Bible that they can't access life from it again. I have even heard Pastors say "well, i have been preaching this Bible for years now and there's nothing you can tell me that i don't know." I agree that you might be acquainted with the letter but certainly not with the Spirit. Understand that information is not as powerful as revelation and Illumination.
3. Refusing The Entrance Of The Word: It is the entrance of the word that gives light. For instance you can never be satisfied by merely inhaling the aroma of a delicious meal. It is the entrance of the food that ends hunger.
4. No Faith Syndrome: The efficacy of the word is activated when it is mixed with faith. If you mix the word with doubt or you will recieve no result. The word only yields when mixed with faith. Faith is the fertilizer at the root of God's word in our lives.
5. Carelessness with the word: The word of God should not be taken casually nor lightly.
Finally, it is the entrance of God's word into your spirit that generates all the difference.
PRAYER: O Lord, may your word yield fruit in me and make me different anywhere i find myself in Jesus' name.

OVERCOMING THE SPIRIT OF SLUMBER

TOPIC: OVERCOMING THE SPIRIT OF SLUMBER
SCRIPTURE: Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light - Ephesians 5:14
MEMORY VERSE: Psalm 132:4
DIGGING DEEEP: One day during the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ, three of His disciples, Peter, James and John, accompanied Him to go and pray. Right there, the spirit of slumber rendered the apostles helpless at the altar of prayers. (Matthew 26:36-43). While Jesus was praying, they were sleeping. And this is the story of some Christians today, while others are praying they are sleeping. When others are active in service and study of the word they are sleeping away.
Beloved when i talk of sleep i am not just reffering to biological sleep but Spiritual sleep. A state of spiritual inactiveness and been at ease. Scripture says that woe unto them that are at ease in Zion (Amos 6:1). In other words, to remain inactive and sleepy in the place of prayer is dangerous.
One of satan's strategy to weaken fervency of prayer is the introduction of sleep. You can be awake for any other thing but when it comes to the study of the word and prayers you yawn away and you just sleep off.
All of these are satanic attempts to disconnect your spirit-man from communing with the Lord.
Three implications of spiritual sleep:
1. It gives access to evil seeds: Matthew 13:15 says "But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away." Nothing corrupts like spiritual sleep. It is the platform on which the enemy thrives to plant his ideas and control lives.
2. Empowers the ministry of the enemy: A thief is most powerful at night because most people are in an inactive state. The devil is a thief and his activities is to steal, kill and to destroy (John 10:10). These are empowered when men sleep.
3. You easily miss your hour of visitation if the spirit of slumber keep harassing you (Mark 13:35-37).
Jacob was awake and wrestled his way into change. His name was changed, hence his identity changed. Prayer is an identity changer. The more you pray the more your life changes. Because a true God encounter won't leave you the way you were met.
To overcome the spirit of slumber, you must learn to be earnest in the place of prayer. That means that let your mind, and the whole of you be literally assembled in one place, focused on God and mean business with God at all cost.
Prayer coming from your heart keeps you active at the place of prayer. When your heart is involved, the spirit of slumber is helpless.
I pray for you today, that spirit harassing your prayer altar is arrested now in Jesus' name.
PRAYER: I refuse to be inactive spiritually in the name of Jesus.

TOPIC: THE SECRET PLACE
SCRIPTURE: The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant - Psalm 25:14
MEMORY VERSE: Jeremiah 33:3
DIGGING DEEEP: The secret place of the most High is not just a promise to claim but a responsibility to engage. It is to be worked towards. Access to His presence is more than attending church services. It is a personal koinonia (intimacy and partnership) with God. For instance if the President of the United States grants you audience to see him, by seeing him does not give you insight into his secret. You will merely relate and take pictures just for memory sake and a prove of having contact with Mr President. But do you know that there are those who have deeper access and relate with him than just been the President? These ones don't need to take pictures for memory sake they already got him. That is how it plays out with God. There are so many folks who are just interested in the ecstacy and joy of been around Gods presence, they only celebrate the miracles and all that His hands can do. They have refferences to show the many works of God but they haven't gotten Him.
So how can one get into the secret place of God?
1. DON'T BE MERELY ACQUAINTED WITH GOD, BE DEEP WITH HIM: Acquaintance is a superficial and mere familiarity with God and the things of God. To be deeply into God is the first key to the secret place of God.
2. GET HIS HEART: 6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. 7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses? (Numbers 12:6-8)
Do you see that? Moses was deep into God, so God could not communicate to him only by dreams and visions. God comes to speak with him mouth to mouth, face to face, and heart to heart. You can't get Gods' heart and not see His hands manifest in your life. Don't just look for Gods' hand seek His heart.
3. UNDERSTAND HIS PERSONALITY: This will reveal to you what God likes and what He dislikes. Understand that your personality is a major decider of the kind of relationship you will attract. Sotherefore, one of the personality of God is that He is not like man that He should lie, hence anything that is a mark of untruthfulness in you must be uprooted to get into the secret place of God. He is faithful, you must be faithful. People who are unfaithful do not get the best out of the relationship they are into, so it is with our relationship with God. To get the best from God, you must solidify your relationship with Him.
What is then the secret place of the Most High
a. It is the place of high profile information: Secrets are only spoken to you in the secret place. Beloved, there is a high profile information about your destiny, about your life, about events, people, places and so on that we can't have access into unless we are in the secret place. So no secret place encounter no secret revealed.
b. It is the place where mysteries are revealed: Mysteries from God ends myseries of life. Mystery from God gives you mastery on earth.
c. It is a realm of uncommon information and insight from God: Illumination from the word is possible in the secret place.
I pray for you, every lack of access is broken today in Jesus' name.
PRAYER: My Father my Lord show me secrets that others don't know in Jesus' name.

CREATED FOR GOOD WORK

TOPIC: CREATED FOR GOOD WORK
SCRIPTURE: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them -Ephesians 2:10 (Holman Christian Standard Bible)
MEMORY VERSE: 1 Samuel 15:22
DIGGING DEEP: There is more to been born again than just making it to heaven. Heaven is the goal but good works is the purpose. When you become born again, you are now a citizen of heaven but you have residency on earth. So you don't live according to the pattern of this world but according to kingdom pattern. I want you to know that life lived out side God might seem good, that individual might seem to be doing all the right things, but since it is not done in God on the last day it will be worthless. Accepting Jesus is the only way everything done in this earthen body will be valid before God.
Our text shows three us (3) things:
a. GOD'S PRODUCT: "For we are his workmanship..." This means that God crafted us and has placed us in the show room of life to exhibit who He is to the world. When the world sees us they should see Jesus. We are a product of grace.
b. NEW CREATION: "...created in Christ Jesus..." This is to be a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).
c. GOOD WORKS: "...unto good works..." Without Jesus, spiritually we a bundle of trash and are children of wrath (Ephesians 2:3) hence no good thing can emanate from us. In Christ Jesus we are created for good works. What then is good works?
1. Good works is one done in faith: Hebrews 11:6 "But without faith it is impossible to please him..."
Sotherefore for works to be good and pleasing unto God, it must be done in faith.
2. Good works is one done to glorify God: Matthew 5:16 "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." This implies that good works that glorifies self, smoothens our ego and name is not it. Our good works must cause men to honour and glorify God. Everything we do must bring God to the centre and not man to the centre.
3. Good works is one done in obedience to Gods command: 1 Samuel 15:22 says that "...Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams." Doing good works and not obeying God is a mere sacrifice. What satisfies God is obedience. When sacrifice is mixed with obedience then it becomes much more pleasing to God. There are Pastors, Christians and so on who sacrifice their time, their resources but lack obedience to the laws of God. Such service is worthless. Good works makes sense when it fits into the parameters of Divine instructions and demand.
4. Good works is done only on the bedrock of salvation: Accepting Jesus as Lord of your life translates your works from just been good in the eyes of men to become good in the sight of God.
I pray that you will manifest God to the world in Jesus' name.
PRAYER: O Lord, i ask for grace to do things that is pleasing unto you in Jesus' name.

THE CONTROLLING SPIRIT OF THIS AGE

TOPIC: THE CONTROLLING SPIRIT OF THIS AGE
SCRIPTURE: In which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.
Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest - Ephesians 2:2-3
MEMORY VERSE: Galatians 5:16
DIGGING DEEP: There are two courses in this world which are the course of God and that of the devil. The path of God leads to eternal life and that of the devil leads to eternal death. The devil always goes to and fro like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. That means that the major duty of the devil is to ruin the lives of men.
It is of great necessity that we guard ourselves and be more vigilant than ever. Carelessness is not to be entertained in this season.
The devil is subtle and curny, he often uses this to get around and influence. That was what he did to eve in eden and so manipulated the state of human race.
What are controlling spirits? These are demonic spirits that seek or have gained influence and legality in the life of men. They can dictate the behaviour of a person, the culture of a place, the patterns in a family and so on. When you get into a place you can tell the spiritual forces controlling that country or state. Some it is insincerity, some places divorce and infidelity, some it is suicide bombing and violence, some is a pattern of crime, others it is spiritual coldness and lack of desire for the things of God. The list is endless. But in the name of Jesus any controlling power in your environment is subdued under you today in Jeaus' name.
Our anchor Scripture states that these forces are powers in the air and translates to work in the lives of those who are dead in sin.
Let us see a few: a. Disobedience: Today the rate of disobedience is abysmally high. People are disobedient to God, children are disobedient to parents, citizens are disobedient to the country and so on. It is a controlling spirit in the atmosphere.
b. Lust of the flesh: The "lust of the flesh" is an evil desire for the things of the flesh. It is indulging in desires of the flesh and mind. If what your mind desires is not in alignment with the things of God then a controlling spirit is at work.
Controlling spirits tend to build altars in our mind in which the devil finds legality to traffic. Some it is addiction to sex causing fornication and adultery, there are some it is lying and insincerity, envy, hate, obssession and many more. But in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth any thing that is not of God influencing your mind and affecting your life it is broken in the name of Jesus.
Finally, Jesus began to explain how He will be killed, Peter was under a controlling spirit and began to say it is not possible but Jesus rebuked that devil "Jesus turned to Peter and said, "Get away from me, Satan! You are a dangerous trap to me. You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God's" (Matthew 16:23 NLT). So therefore controlling spirits are satanic traps and they make you see things only from man's point of view and not God's.
I decree that you are breaking free now in Jesus' name.
PRAYER: O Lord i decree that no satanic influence has the capacity to manipulate my life and destiny in the name of Jesus.

TOPIC: THE CONTROLLING SPIRIT OF THIS AGE
SCRIPTURE: In which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience.
Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest - Ephesians 2:2-3
MEMORY VERSE: Galatians 5:16
DIGGING DEEP: There are two courses in this world which are the course of God and that of the devil. The path of God leads to eternal life and that of the devil leads to eternal death. The devil always goes to and fro like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. That means that the major duty of the devil is to ruin the lives of men.
It is of great necessity that we guard ourselves and be more vigilant than ever. Carelessness is not to be entertained in this season.
The devil is subtle and curny, he often uses this to get around and influence. That was what he did to eve in eden and so manipulated the state of human race.

TOPIC: THE SPIRIT OF THIS AGE:DEAD IN SIN
SCRIPTURE: And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience - Ephesians 2:1-2
MEMORY VERSE: 1 Corinthians 5:17
DIGGING DEEP: We are in a time and age whereby people live by the concepts of the world and not by the precepts of the word of God. There are those who don't regard God, and have no fear(refference) for Him. And there are those who have outrightly sold out their conscience to the devil, so that their heart is twisted by intellectualism, modernization, and infected by satanic mindset; they have become atheists and dare to speak against God without the blink of an eye. Scripture says in Psalm 14:1 that "The fool says in his heart there is no God." In other words it is the highest height of foolishness to look at the world, look at your life and all the awesome things that is around us and say that God doesn't exist. Any life that is not rooted in Christ has no future that is to say has no life after this life .
Our text says that "And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins." Notice these:
1. Dead in sin: This speaks of a spiritual state where by one is powerless against sin. A state of lifelessness to righteousness and holiness. It is a state that one cannot respond to God again. A condition of a living corpse of sin.
And just as a corpse cannot revive itself to life, neither can an unbeliever revive his own spirit into new life. In this state it is normal to sin and not feel it, infact in this state people will defend evil and call it good. That is the reason the world is supporting gay rights, nudism, suicide bombers, and all sort of atrocities prevail everywhere today because men are dead in sin.
2. Quickened: Prior to the revelation of Jesus we were all spiritually dead. It was the unique identity of all mankind. Every person begins their life on earth in this state of spiritual deadness, and apart from the work of God to revive our spirit, this state will continue uninterrupted until our physical death.
Accepting Jesus converts you from been 'dead in sin' to been 'dead to sin' and alive unto righteousness (Romans 6:11).
Finally beloved, anyone that has no regard for God and haven't accepted Christ as Lord will die again but if you recieve Him you will live again.
I pray for you today any form of iniquity that is holding you from enjoying God's best i break it now in, recieve spiritual reawakening in Jesus' name.
PRAYER: O Lord I confess today that you are the Lord of my life in Jesus' name
O Lord, i recieve grace to stay alive unto righteousness and dead to sin in Jesus' name.

TOPIC: WORSHIP TOOLS
SCRIPTURE: 21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. 22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth - John 4:21-24
MEMORY VERSE: John 4:24
DIGGING DEEP: Worship tools are tools that helps us accurately and effectively worship God.
We were created as agents of worship unto God and that is what we should live for and do every single day of our lives (Ephesians 1:11-12).
One of the most potent weapons and major secret of accessing Divine presence is worship (Psalm 22:3).
An atmosphere of worship is an environment of courtship with Divinity. Because it is an avenue where the depth of your heart is poured out unto God. It is a place of deep intimacy with God.
To effectively worship therefore, worship tools are needed. The way and manner by which tools ease work, so does worship tools aid you in worshipping God well.
What then are the tools that make worship effective? What are the tools that assures accuracy, excellence and eliminate struggle in worship?
1. KNOWLEDGE OF GOD: "Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship..." Worship is faceless, rootless and baseless if God is not in the centre of it. Cluelessness of worship equals the fruitlessness of worship.
To worship blind foldedly, is a senseless and valueless worship. You must know God to worship Him well. Know His personality, His character, His does and don'ts. Knowledge is precipitated via study. Knowing God is from His word and this helps us to worship correctly.
2. WORD: Word revelation is critical to effective worship. The most powerful worship is in response to God’s Word connecting with your heart. Worship divorced from God’s word is mere emotion. A wordless worship is a worthless worship. A wordless worship is a rootless and clueless worship. The word pours out the truth about God in your spirit hence you begin to worship in Spirit and in His truth indeed (John 4:24).
3. SPIRIT: "... worship him in spirit..." This is where the supernatural comes into play. This is where you experience the appearance of God. And when He appears miracles manifests.
4. A CLEAN HEART: A clean heart involves having singleness of heart toward God. A clean heart has no hypocrisy, no guile, no hidden motives and no sin in it.
If your heart is clean your worship will be clean and it will attract God to you. Worship is great when all your being is concentrated upon God.
5. HUNGER: Feeding is a response to hunger, the more we hunger for God, the more we worship Him. The secret to worship encounters is hunger.
Be desperate for God.
When these tools are applied there will be an eruption of an high tension Divine presence around your life and you will experience the explosion of the power of God.
PRAYER: Father i recieve your word with gladness of heart and i press into you more than ever in Jesus' name.
